WEB DESK: It has been decided that within a few days, Pakistan will formally issue a notice to New Delhi through diplomatic channels regarding the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
According to sources within the Indus Commission, urgent legal and constitutional consultations are underway regarding India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Law have already completed preliminary preparations.
Sources further stated that, decision has been made to send a formal diplomatic notice to India within a few days, requesting concrete reasons for the suspension of the treaty.
Additionally, there is consideration of registering a strong protest at international forums to effectively highlight India’s water aggression to the world.
The sources also emphasized that, Pakistan holds a legal precedence over the Indus Waters Treaty and is hopeful that India will soon have to reconsider its decision. All actions will be taken after government and cabinet approval.
