Pakistan is prepared to welcome Its citizens if India opens border crossing, FO

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government announced on Thursday that it remains willing to facilitate the return of its citizens from India, provided Indian authorities permit border crossings.

A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that, India’s decision to revoke visas for Pakistani nationals has led to significant humanitarian concerns.

The spokesperson highlighted that, “numerous Pakistani citizens, including patients with critical health conditions, have been forced to return home prematurely, often without completing necessary medical treatments”.

Additionally, there are reports of families being separated and children being parted from their parents due to these restrictions.

“The last permitted date for crossing at the Wagah-Attari border was April 30, 2025, and expressed awareness of media reports indicating some Pakistani nationals remain stranded at Attari”, said FO

“The government reaffirmed its openness to receiving its citizens through the Wagah border if Indian authorities allow, and assured that the border will continue to remain accessible for Pakistani citizens in the future”.
