DUBAI: In the ICC champions Trophy India have defeated the Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the second match played in Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Bangladesh won the toss against India and decided to bat first. Bangladesh’s team was dismissed for 228, India chase the target with no huddles and won by 6 wickets.
The Bengal Tigers did not have a good start, with half the team 5 players being dismissed for just 35 runs.
Opener Soumya Sarkar and Mehdi Hasan were dismissed by Mohammad Shami, while Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was sent back by Harshit Rana. Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim were dismissed by Axar Patel.
After the fall of 5 wickets, Zakir Ali and Towhid Hridoy formed a valuable partnership of 154 runs. Zakir Ali was dismissed for 68 runs at a total score of 189.
Towhid Hridoy completed a magnificent 100 runs and was dismissed in the final over. Apart from them, Tanzid Hasan scored 25 runs and Rishad Hossain made 18 runs. Soumya Sarkar and Najmul Hossain were dismissed for a duck, while Mushfiqur Rahim and Tanzid Hasan were also dismissed without scoring any runs.
For India, Mohammad Shami took 5 wickets, Harshit Rana claimed 3, and Axar Patel took 2 wickets.
Speaking at the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said, “Every team tries to win the tournament, and we also want the same. The toss is done, now we need to focus on how to play with the ball.”
Bangladesh’s captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said, “I am happy with the team’s preparation. We have included two spinners and three fast bowlers in the team.”
