WEB DESK: Pakistan has temporarily closed its airspace from 3:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 10 following India’s recent missile strikes on multiple Pakistani airbases, including Nur Khan in Rawalpindi.
The closure has caused disruptions in flight operations between the two countries, with intermittent cancellations and delays reported after India launched its latest attack targeting three Pakistani military installations.
At Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, foreign nationals were relocated to hotels due to the suspension of flights, according to sources. Passengers remaining at the airport were advised to check with their airlines before proceeding.
Travelers were also urged to confirm the status of their flights prior to heading to the airport.
In response to India’s strikes, Islamabad announced the launch of a military operation named ‘Bunyan ul Marsoos’ against Indian targets. Pakistani security sources indicated that the operation targeted at least ten sites across India, including strategic locations such as Pathankot, Udhampur, Gujarat, and Rajasthan airbases, as well as Brahmos missile storage facilities in Beas and Nagrota.
The Pakistani military confirmed that, despite Indian missile attacks on three Pakistani airbases, all Pakistani Air Force assets remained secure. The situation has heightened tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours, with both sides engaged in retaliatory actions.
