In the initial phase, assets worth more than 6 billion rupees, including cash, gold, valuable properties, and luxury vehicles, were transferred to the provincial government.

NAB stated that the recovery of these assets was the result of a systematic and comprehensive investigation. The case involves embezzlement of over 37 billion rupees in public funds during the Kohistan financial scandal. Chairman NAB emphasized that the complex financial fraud had been exposed through effective investigations. He also appreciated the efforts of the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director General, Faramdullah, and the investigative team.

Once legal proceedings are complete, additional assets will be transferred to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He stressed that public resources are entrusted to the nation and every possible step will be taken to safeguard them.

During a special ceremony in Peshawar, Chairman NAB awarded a special shield and certificate to senior journalist Arshad Aziz Malik of Jang and Geo Group for exposing the Kohistan scandal.
