Sikh Yatrees Celebrate 555th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak in Lahore

LAHORE: Over 3,000 Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world have arrived in Lahore through Wagah to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.

The three-day celebrations, running from November 13 to 16, have drawn a large influx of visitors, prompting special arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.

Special Arrangements for Pilgrims, In anticipation of the large number of attendees, authorities have made extensive arrangements at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, in Nankana Sahib. These include help counters, money exchange services, a mini hospital, langar (community kitchen), accommodation facilities, and transportation to ensure a smooth experience for the visiting Yatrees.

Warm Welcome and Gratitude, Pilgrims from the UK expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception they received upon arrival, calling it overwhelming. They especially praised Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, describing her as a “brave woman” and promising to always remember the kindness shown to them during their visit.
