RAWALPINDI: A high-ranking delegation from the Federal Republic of Somalia, headed by Defence Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, paid a visit to General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
According to the ISPR, the discussions focused on shared interests, regional security issues, and ways to bolster bilateral defense and security partnerships. Both parties emphasized the need to deepen military cooperation and enhance capacity-building efforts to address common security threats.
The Somali delegation expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continued support and highlighted the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting peace and stability across the region. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to assisting Somalia in strengthening its security capabilities and working toward long-term regional peace.
