ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 40 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,039,695.
The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,462 on Monday.
According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 4,858 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan has so far conducted 16,108,532 coronavirus tests and 56,414 in the last 24 hours 943,020 patients have recovered in the country whereas 3,441 patients are in critical condition.
