A.J.KASHMIR: Following its election victory in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has begun internal consultations to form the next government, with attention centered on the selection of the new prime minister.
Party leaders have also decided, in principle, that legislators elected on refugee seats will not be included in the upcoming AJK cabinet.
According to party sources, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has outlined key principles for the new administration, emphasizing a lean cabinet comprising experienced leaders alongside newly elected lawmakers.
The party believes excluding refugee-seat legislators from the cabinet would help limit the financial burden on the AJK government while ensuring a streamlined executive.
Sources added that senior and experienced newly elected members are expected to receive priority in cabinet appointments as the party finalizes its government formation strategy.
