ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad, highlighting the importance of recent developments in regional stability.
During the meeting, discussions centered on Pakistan-US relations, mutual interests, and the ongoing efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation.
Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude towards former US President Donald Trump for his pivotal role in facilitating the India-Pakistan ceasefire. He credited Trump with preventing potential regional catastrophe and serving humanity through his diplomatic efforts, emphasizing that the ceasefire is a significant step toward peace in the region.
“The credit for the ceasefire goes to President Trump,” Naqvi remarked, noting Pakistan’s appreciation for his positive influence. He further stated that Pakistan welcomes Trump’s sentiments and is eager to strengthen cooperation with the United States across various sectors.
Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker responded by reaffirming the United States’ commitment to maintaining excellent relations with Pakistan. She assured that the US will continue to collaborate with Pakistan in multiple areas to promote regional stability and development.
The meeting was also attended by Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Agha, emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations and regional peace initiatives.
