ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced that during the second quarter of 2026, it recovered an impressive Rs2.45 trillion, boosting the total six-month recovery to a historic Rs5.414 trillion the highest ever recorded in a half-year period.
In a detailed statement, NAB highlighted its notable achievements, with Sukkur region leading in recovery efforts. Balochistan’s NAB unit made significant strides by reclaiming 209,544 acres of forest land, including vital natural reserves like Hingol National Park and land managed by Gwadar Industrial Estate Development Authority (GIEDA), valued at Rs604.64 billion.
Karachi’s NAB team recovered 11,422 acres of illegally allocated state land and dubious leases to housing societies and individuals, totaling Rs467.11 billion. Meanwhile, Lahore’s NAB reclaimed 1,909 acres of land connected to PCBL and other state lands, worth Rs288.29 billion. In the Islamabad and Rawalpindi regions, 810 acres of land linked to CDA amenities plots in various housing projects were recovered, valued at Rs66.63 billion.
Additionally, NAB addressed cases of housing and financial fraud, returning over Rs42.3 billion to more than 24,365 victims who were cheated through illegal schemes, thereby compensating the public and restoring trust.
This unprecedented recovery underscores NAB’s commitment to fighting corruption and reclaiming public assets across Pakistan.
